It is easy to turn sheets into curtains with Fitting Pretty's No-Sew Curtain Kit. You can make lovely window treatments in no time at all! The kit turns your iron into a sewing machine.
FittingPretty's No-Sew Curtain Kit is a very quick and easy project! The curtains will have the same generous two-to-one gathers as expensive custom-made curtains made by professional drapery makers.
All you need is a ruler, a pencil, scissors and an iron. Just measure your window, cut the sheets, and iron your sheets into beautiful café style curtains and valances.
The No-Sew Seam Tape and Curtain Tape are washable just like the sheets. The tapes can be resealed with a good steam ironing, if necessary.

Three easy steps! And you've made curtains from sheets! |
You will simply measure and cut the sheets, iron on the No-Sew Curtain Tape and hem with the No-Sew Seam Tape. That's it! You've made curtains that instantly change a room. The No-Sew Curtain Kit is simple to use. You'll be thrilled. And you made it yourself!
The same 3 easy steps make both valances and curtains. The tunnel made by the Now-Sew Curtain Tape can accommodate up to a 1" round curtain rod.

You don't need to learn anything you don't already know how to do. |
Valances are the shorter curtains at the top of the window. Valances can overlap longer café curtains or you can have the window show in between the valance and the curtain for more light. A valance can be any length, from a chic shallow ruffle to one half of the window. Generally, valances are between 12" and 15".
Because sheets are very wide, curtain making is a snap! Sheets are easy to transform into fabulous curtains and the FittingPretty No-Sew Curtain Kit is so simple.
Sheet manufacturers have already done the fancy design work by creating complementary sets of patterns and solids. Solid colors and overall patterns work the best and are the easiest to use. It's a great opportunity to be creative! You can make window treatments that look like you hired a decorator! Go ahead and match a solid with a pattern. For example, your valance can be from a patterned sheet with the curtain from a solid sheet or vice versa. Or use two coordinated patterns.
The kit is so easy to do you'll want to transform all your windows! You only need to iron. No sewing!
Remember: Use flat sheets only!

Stripes, plaids, and diagonal patterns are very tricky to match. It will be a difficult project for a novice. |
The width of the window determines how many kits you will need.
Each No-Sew Curtain Kit makes one curtain for one 6-foot window. So if your window is wider than 6 feet you will need two kits to make one (each) curtain or valance.
A 6-foot window with both a curtain and a valance will require 2 kits.
Getting acquainted with the No-Sew Curtain Kit
Inside the kit is enough No-Sew Seam Tape and No-Sew Curtain Tape to create one valance or curtain for a 72-inch window. If you want the curtain to open in the middle, you will make two panels. The kit makes one 144" panel or two 72" panels
enough for one 6-foot window curtain or valance.

Here's all you have to do. Iron! That's it! "Pressing" is a light pass with the iron that creases the fabric and locates the No-Sew Seam Tape on the fabric. You will use bonded seams if you need the seams to make the curtain wide enough. "Bonding" is ironing with a downward pressure and steam that makes the seam. |
A bonded seam attaches the panels together. It takes two easy ironing steps to make a seam. The end result is a seam that is adhered to the wrong side of the fabric so it cannot pull apart. You will press the 1/2" seam allowance of one panel to itself, then place another line of tape on the turnback and bond the other panel to it. Easy!
Then you will iron a finished hem around the outside vertical edges of the curtains to give a finished appearance. Beautiful!
You must do all seams and vertical edges before you apply the No-Sew Curtain Tape and before you hem the curtain or valance.
See how easy it is! Just give yourself a moment to familiarize yourself with the ironing techniques before you begin.
