The Cinch Clip and Cinch Band fit together to customize the band to fit your furniture exactly. The Cinch Band holds all the clips in place and it is very important that it fit tightly around your sofa or chair. Before you start, make sure that your slipcover is positioned properly.
1. With the elastic lying flat, fold the elastic in half with the cut ends together. Make sure there are no twists in the elastic.
2. Hold the Cinch Clip so that the writing is facing you. Place the elastic horizontally over top of the Cinch Clip with the cut ends extending two inches beyond the clip on the left or B side of the Cinch Clip.
3. Put the elastic through the A slot in the following manner: gently lift the top center of the Cinch Clip and slide the top edge of the elastic under the U-shaped piece of plastic. Do the same with the lower edge.
4. Put the cut ends through the B slot. The B will now show.
5. Fold back and hold cut ends against the back of the Cinch Clip with a finger.
6. Put the long looped end of the elastic through the C slot. The C will show.
7. Take the elastic across the back of the clip, covering the cut ends. Bring through the B slot again. The C will show.
8. Bring the elastic across the front of the Cinch Clip and put it through the C slot. Both B and C will show. Continue to wrap the elastic around the Cinch Clip until it fits your piece of furniture tightly.
9. Separate the elastic. Take the side more toward the back and take it through the B slot. The B will not show and the C will. Pull on the elastic. Voila-a belt!
10. Now, put the completed Cinch Band over the slipcover so that it rests just below the seat cushions with the clip at the back of the sofa or chair. Remember, it must fit girdle tight.
11. Use the Cinch Band to hold the slipcover in place at the back corners of the sofa.
